Building air leakage testing

New buildings must be tested for air leakage in order to demonstrate compliance with Part L of the building regulations.

Our service:

  • At the design stage, we can advise on the air leakage standards to be met and how best to meet them.
  • For housing developments, we can advise on how many dwelling types there are and how many of each type need to be tested.
  • We will carry out airtightness testing in accordance with the procedures defined in ATTMA Technical Standard 1.
  • In the event of a failure, we will, if required, carry out a smoke test or thermographic survey to identify air leakage paths.
  • Response times depend on work load but are usually feasible within 72hours.
